Gemini Zodiac Shirts, Sweatshirts and Hoodies: Wear the Twins

A couple in a cafe wearing the Gemini zodiac design, she in a white hoodie and he in a black tee, each showing two twins under a gold Gemini symbol, crescent moon and stars

Take a look at the photo. Two people, one café, and a whole night sky printed on their clothes. She’s in a white hoodie. He’s in a black tee. Same Gemini design on both, and it looks good on both.

That’s the fun of star sign clothing. One piece of artwork can go on light fabric or dark fabric, on a cozy hoodie or a plain tee, and it belongs to anyone born between about May 21 and June 20. Or anyone who just likes twins, stars and gold flowers.

This guide covers what’s on the design, what the Gemini star sign is all about, why we print it the way we do, and how to find the version that suits you.

The short version

Expressionize sells a Gemini zodiac design printed with DTG (direct-to-garment) technology on unisex tees, sweatshirts and hoodies. It comes in three base colors (white, black and light grey), three styles (tee, sweatshirt and hoodie) and eight sizes, S–5XL. To see it, type “Gemini” into the search bar at expressionize.com.

What’s on the Gemini design

The artwork is a little night sky inside an oval. Two figures stand face to face in the middle, both with long wavy hair and soft, flowing robes. Those are the Gemini twins. Above them sits the gold Gemini symbol, which looks a bit like the Roman numeral II. A crescent moon and a scatter of tiny stars fill the background.

Along the bottom, a gold banner spells out GEMINI, with yellow flowers on each end and white blossoms tucked underneath. The whole thing has a soft, storybook feel, like a picture from an old book of myths. Gemini is all about pairs, so two faces looking at each other felt right.

What Gemini people are like

Ask an astrologer about Gemini and the first word you’ll hear is “curious.” Geminis want to know how things work, why people do what they do, and what’s behind that door. They ask a lot of questions, and they ask them fast.

Mercury, the planet of messages and communication, rules the sign. That’s why Geminis get a reputation as talkers, writers, joke-tellers and quick thinkers. Put a Gemini at a party and they’ll probably have chatted with half the room before the cake comes out.

Gemini is an air sign, so Geminis live a lot in their heads. Ideas, plans, “what if we tried this?” It’s also a mutable sign, which is astrology’s way of saying they change easily. New school? New hobby? New plan five minutes before leaving? A Gemini can roll with it.

Where Geminis shine:

•       Curious about almost everything

•       Funny, friendly and easy to talk to

•       Quick learners who pick up new things fast

•       Good at seeing both sides of a story

Where they can trip up:

•       Bored easily, so projects can pile up half finished

•       Tricky to pin down when there are too many good choices

•       Restless when things stay the same for too long

You’ll sometimes hear that Geminis are “two-faced” because of the twins. Astrologers say that’s a myth. The twins really stand for two sides of one person: the playful one and the serious one, the talker and the thinker.

The twins come from Greek mythology. Castor and Pollux were brothers who were so close that when Castor died, Pollux asked to share his own life with him. The gods placed them together in the sky. Today, the two brightest stars in the Gemini constellation carry their names.

As for friends, astrology traditionally says Gemini gets along well with fellow air signs Libra and Aquarius, and with fire signs like Aries and Leo. The sign directly across the wheel from Gemini is Sagittarius. Astrology is for fun and a good chat, not science, but it does make a great conversation starter.

Why we print it with DTG

DTG stands for direct-to-garment. Picture a very clever inkjet printer, except instead of paper it prints straight onto a shirt. A few reasons it suits this design:

•       It handles detail. The Gemini sky has soft blues, gold and tiny bright stars. DTG can print millions of colors and smooth blends in one pass, so the artwork doesn’t get squashed into a few flat colors.

•       It feels soft. The water-based ink soaks into the fabric fibers instead of sitting on top like a sticker. You feel the fabric, not a plastic patch.

•       It works on dark and light. On black garments, a white base layer goes down first so the colors stay bright. That’s why the design looks just as sharp on the black tee as it does on the white hoodie.

•       No minimum order. Each garment is printed after someone orders it, so one hoodie is as easy as fifty.

•       Less waste. Nothing is printed ahead of time, so there’s no pile of unsold shirts sitting in a warehouse.

Care tip: turn the garment inside out, wash it in cool water, and go easy on the dryer heat. The print will stay looking good for a long time.

Your options: colors, styles and sizes

The Gemini design is available in:

•       Three base colors: white, black and light grey

•       Three styles: classic tee, sweatshirt and hoodie

•       Eight sizes: S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL

Mix and match and that’s 72 different combinations. Black makes the gold and yellow pop. White gives the design a fresh, airy look. Light grey sits somewhere in between and is easy to wear with almost anything. The photo above shows the white hoodie and the black tee, but every style comes in all three colors.

How to find yours

To explore your options, just type “Gemini” into the search bar in the top menu at expressionize.com. You can also search for any other star sign, your Chinese zodiac birth year, or your year of birth from 1935 onwards, and a whole range of choices will come up.

Not a Gemini? No problem. A Leo, a Scorpio or a Pisces can find their own sign the same way. So can anyone born in 1962, 1985 or 2003.

A gift that fits

Got a Gemini birthday coming up between late May and the third week of June? A hoodie or tee with their sign on it is an easy win. Matching pieces work too, like the pair in the photo. And because the design comes all the way up to 5XL, it’s simple to find a size for everyone.
